Peter is the online content editor at Scottish Business Insider, and has covered various areas of business and finance during his career. He began in 2010, covering pensions and asset management for Institutional Investor Euromoney, before moving to the adviser beat at the Financial Times. Then it was over to the technology side of things, editing FStech, National Technology News and Retail Systems.

James has specialised in transaction services since 2003, providing due diligence assistance on a wide variety of transactions for both Scottish based and international Corporates and Private Equity clients across a wide range of sectors and geographies.

James has been Senior Partner for Scotland since August 2021 (and Senior Partner for Glasgow since April 2020).

Yael is Chief Economist at KPMG in the UK and a Fellow at the National Institute of Economic and Social Research.

She has been advising clients on the global economic outlook and its impact on their strategy for over 20 years. Her experience spans private sector clients across a wide range of industries and geographies, as well as public sector bodies.

Her research looks at the impact major shocks, as well as new technologies, could have on the economy and on individual businesses. Her work at the National Institute of Economic and Social Research looks at ways to lift growth across UK regions.

Yael is a regular commentator on economic issues in the media. She won City A.M. Analyst of the Year award in 2016 for the research she published on the outlook for interest rates, global trade and equity markets, and was named one of City’s 100 most influential women. She is a member of the Council of Management of SUERF.

Rosalie Chadwick is a Corporate Finance Partner and Global Head of Oil and Gas at Pinsent Masons. Rosalie leads multi-million pound mergers and acquisitions and capital markets deals across the UK and internationally and has particular expertise in the energy sector. Rosalie works in tandem with Pinsent Masons’ renewables energy team, supporting major clients with deals, disputes and financings as well as the transition to zero-carbon futures.

James Withers is the Chief Executive of Scotland Food & Drink.

Scotland Food & Drink (SF&D) was established in 2007 to grow the value and reputation of the nation's food and drink industry. It has a uniquely collaborative model, bringing the industry, government and its agencies together to develop and drive forward the sector in Scotland and give it a competitive edge. Scotland's food and drink sector has gone from a static position in 2007 to now being one of Scotland’s best performing sectors with an annual turnover of £14 billion, including £6 billion of export sales.

As a membership organisation with over 450 member companies, SF&D provides support and guidance to food and drink businesses - small and large, new starts and well-established - to achieve their growth ambitions.

In March 2017, SF&D led the development of Ambition 2030, the strategy to drive the responsible growth in the value of the sector to £30bn by 2030.

Prior to joining the SF&D in 2011, James was CEO of the NFU Scotland where he promoted the interests of the nation's agricultural industry.

Amongst a number of other roles, James sits on the Scottish Government’s Board of Trade and is on the board of the Scottish Tourism Alliance, working to enhance and promote Scotland’s world class tourism industry.

Brian is a Partner at Nevis Capital and has led its growth over the last 15 years, buying and owning stakes in SME businesses across the UK. He leads the investment activities at Nevis and works closely to support and develop the portfolio where he believes in taking a long term view to build sustainable value. Prior to this, he spent 14 years at PwC where he was a Director in Corporate Finance.

He has completed over 100 deals including acquisition, MBO, investment and sale of both public and private businesses in the UK and overseas. Brian is a founding Trustee and Treasurer of the JMA Trust, a charity which helps people across Scotland facing hardship.
